Your "Home"

I started making my homes after my mum passed away.*  Since she represented home to me, I took papers with her handwriting (a copy of her marriage certificate, pages from books with wording that reminded me of her, my kids’ drawings from when they spent time with her) and used them to create houses, or homes, on top of abstract paintings. The creative process was deeply meaningful to me. Looking at these paintings now fills me with joy.

I would like to offer you the same opportunity.  I will create a one-of-a-kind painting that incorporates what’s most meaningful to you or to the person you’re giving it.  It may be to celebrate a milestone, remember a loved one, or simply mark a moment.  These have been very popular as wedding gifts, and are gifts that will be treasured for a lifetime.

The process is simple:

  • I will reach out to set up a 20-minute free consultation in which I guide you through the different types of memorabilia that would be most suitable for the piece.  We’ll also discuss size options and costs.

  • You send me your papers.

  • I create a number of options (within one month of receiving your package) so you can choose your favorite, or take them all.

  • You treasure it for a lifetime!

Gift certificates are available for newlyweds, new parents, milestone birthdays and more. Please be in touch with me to learn more about purchasing a gift certificate.

Testimonials:

I’m so grateful to Alisa.

I commissioned her to paint a piece tributing a special relationship in my life. She spent time with me beforehand in order to learn about the relationship I wanted captured, and the result was this beautiful, moving, intimate 3-piece set! Each piece is unique, but there is also subtle “connective tissue” across all three.

Every person who comes into my home compliments them, and now I can’t wait to have her create another set as a surprise for a family member!!

- Gaby R:

I gave Alisa relics from each of my children’s childhood and she incorporated these memories into a piece unique to each of them.

It exceeded my imagination.

I’m now looking for one to make for my parents’ 50th anniversary.  I can’t wait!

I needed something to remember my mother after she died.  I went through different pieces with Alisa.  We took the envelope of a letter addressed to my family and put it together with a piece she had written about me as a baby, and a letter I had written to her about my children.  And voila.

My first anniversary gift to my husband was an Alisa Grace piece!  She took the first piece of mail we received as a married couple and turned it into our home.  Everybody needs an Alisa Grace piece in their home.
